Can you believe it's already Memorial Day???? I can't! This year has already FLOWN by! Probably because Neight and I are spending our time looking forward to the baby coming! There's only 2 weeks left! Neight continues to tell me that he wants Baby K to come early, but I don't (and kind of hope) that it won't happen. As much as I tell myself I'm ready for labor it still really makes me nervous to think about it. It's crazy to think that a year ago Neight and I were looking forward to taking our trip to Disneyland and this year we're looking forward to having our baby.
Usually over Memorial Day we go camping with my Dad's family. Last year we broke the tradition and went to Echo with our friends Brett and Allie. It was a lot of fun, but SO miserable because it rained from the time we got there until the time we left. This year because I'm 38 weeks pregnant we decided to not even try, even though we bought a camper so we probably would have been fine with the cold, but I don't want to be hours away from a hospital. My Dad's family decided not to go camping this year either, so I don't feel like we missed out on too much.
Today my Dad and Neight are working in the nursery getting it ready to go. There's just a little left to do, they're texturing the walls that they built and getting things ready to paint. The only problem with this is that there is dust from the mud in the ENTIRE upstairs. I was up there for about an hour when they first started, but I couldn't handle the dust anymore. It was making me crazy and I felt the urge to clean, so I moved downstairs where I've spent the majority of the day. It's much cooler and I have a TV and computer, so it's not horrible. It also keeps me sane. There wasn't any point to clean upstairs because it will just continue to get dirty until they are finished for the day. It's a good thing they're doing this before the baby comes instead of her first few weeks here at home. I will be happy when it's finished. I should have taken pictures before they started in there, but I didn't. I'll post some of the room when it's finished for sure.
Later tonight Neight and I are going over with our puppy to my parents for a bbq. I love spending time with my family and it's never a dull moment with my sisters. I'm also looking forward to getting all of the dust off of my floor and flat surfaces upstairs ;)

Week 34
Time is winding down and the final countdown is almost here. I have a doctor appointment next Monday, one two weeks after that, and then every week after that! So scary! But so exciting! Every day I feel a little less nervous about the baby coming. I just have to keep the mind set that millions of women have given birth before and that I can totally do it! AHHHH!!!! I'm finally starting to buy things and get ready. A few weeks ago I was super stressed and anxious about the baby coming and having nothing, so that weekend when Neight and I went grocery shopping we bought a package of diapers, wipes, and some onesies. It really helped my stress level out, and we even decided what I need to do when I go into labor. With Neight working 45 minutes away and out on service calls we decided that if I'm at home or at work I just need to get myself to the hospital and he will meet me out there. If I can't drive because the contractions are too strong then I have a tree of people to call to help me. I really hope that my labor starts at night or on a weekend when Neight is with me. It might even be a blessing if the doctor decides to induce me so I can pick the day and Neight will be with me.

I found this cute fleece a while back and decided I would make a blanket for the baby. Yesterday I finally put it together! One more thing that's ready for the baby :D |

When Neight and I were shopping we found this awesome shirt. The smallest size we found was 12 months, but I sitll had to buy it. It was too hilarious to pass up. |

Birthday, a New Job, and Valentines
February is usually a busy month for us, with Neight's birthday on the 8th and Valentines on the 14th. It is especially busy this year with Neight also starting a new job!
For Neight's birthday I tried so hard to set up a surprise for him, and as hard as I tired to keep it a secret until his birthday he still found out. See, I had been planning this birthday surprise for him since November so in theory it should be flawless. Well, it wasn't. Far from actually. I had planned to take him out to dinner at his favorite restaurant, Happy Sumo, and then to Anniversary Inn for a night away before the baby comes. Well, the Monday before his birthday he was asking me some questions about it and said "If we're going to stay someplace over night, what are we doing with the dog?" I FORGOT THE DOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so upset and rushed through the different people I could pawn her off on ;) Luckily Neight thought of my parents and how she could sleep in their backyard that night. Zildjin loves to spend time outside so I figured it would be a good plan, but I was still terrified that she would bark all night long and my parents would decided that they never wanted to watch her again. Luckily my mom was gracious enough to let us drop her off for the night, my dad was kind enough to put carpet in her kennel and a tarp over it to keep it warm, and THANKFULLY Zildjin didn't bark all night long. I'm so lucky to have such awesome parents :) Even though I couldn't quite pull off the surprise it was still a nice night and Neight says he enjoyed it. The weekend after his birthday we went to Rodizio Grill with some friends and had a really great time. One of these years I'm going to tell the restaurant that it's his birthday so they can play the cool drum for him :) The meat was delicious and the grilled pineapple was heaven. It's pretty fun when I can eat just as much as the men do, I just hope it doesn't stay that way after the baby is born.
Neight started a new job on the 13th and loves it. He tells me it's completely different from Geek Squad and very much laid back, which is better for his stress level right now. Especially while he's trying to focus on school. Speaking of school, my due date is June 10th and Neight's graduation ceremony for his Associates Degree is June 13th, talk about nerve racking! Anyway, this job is a foot in the door to his ideal career and will help us out in the long run, I hope. I'm not sure exactly what he does, he comes home and tells me about the activities of his day, but 90 % of the time I don't understand anything he's talking about, but I still listen and ask questions when I think I will understand the answer :) Neight is trying to stay at Geek Squad a few nights a week, but by the time he has a day off he will have worked 21 days straight between his new job and Geek Squad. I don't know how long Geek Squad will stay if it's a continual thing where he doesn't get a day off for three weeks. I do appreciate all he is doing for me and the baby, but I need him to stay healthy and sane ;)
With Valentines day being in the middle of the week Neight worked all day and I had school all day so we didn't do anything super special, which is fine with me because we should be expressing our love all year long, not just on Valentines day. Although, when I got home from school that night Neight did give me a present :) It was a box of rice crispy treats that leave a space for you to write on the wrappers. Well, in this box of 40 Neight went through and wrote Valentine's sayings (kind of) on all of the wrappers for me :D It was the cutest thing! It is a much more thoughtful gift than flowers or chocolates because he actually had to think about it :) It made my day. I am one lucky girl :)
That's our update for now. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow to check on the baby. Neight and I are still trying to decide on a name. We've come up with a few that we like, and I think I even have a favorite picked out, but I don't want to say "that's her name" and then find one I like more. I still have 4 months to figure things out, although, those four months are going to FLY by! Now I need to get moving and clean the house, make the grocery shopping list, and I should probably work on my homework, even though it's super hard to find motivation this semester.

Baby News!
Two weeks ago I had my ultrasound where the doctor found out the measurements of the baby and we got to find out the gender. It was very interesting and our baby was stubborn at first and wouldn't cooperate, big surprise, right? After the ultrasound tech got all of the needed measurements she told us that our baby had it's legs crossed, but she would find out the gender for us because she likes the challenge. About a minute after that she told us that we're having a girl. At first I thought about asking her to check again because she had said just a few seconds earlier that the legs were crossed. Then I looked over at Neight to make sure he was ok with it, because he said he wanted a boy. After our appointment he said that he knew it was a girl, because anytime he had thought about our baby up to that point he had thought the name that we had picked out for her.
Now that we know the gender, I can't decide on a name that I like. I keep saying that I have a few more months, but honestly I need to decide, or at least have a few picked out for when she's born. Now we get to start on her nursery :)
Here are a few pictures from the ultrasound

It looks like she's blowing smoke, but it's actually her fist. She loves to put her hands and arms by her face. |

This is a picture of my baby bump the day before the ultrasound at 22 weeks. I swear I've doubled in size since then, or at least, that's what it feels like. |

Christmas and New Years
Even with a break from school, Neight and I have been staying busy with work and all of the holiday parties that were planned. The month of December flew by and here we are, January second. This years already looks promising with a baby coming in June, meaning that we have a lot of work to do to get the nursery ready. Neight will be graduating with his associates degree in June as well.
January 23rd is the day we get to find out if we're having a boy or girl. Neight wants a boy, but I'm torn. I used to say I never wanted a girl because growing up with two sisters served more drama than needed, but I can buy cute clothes, blankets, shoes, etc. If we have a boy it will be a whole new experience for me since I didn't have any brothers. I'll still go with the fact that as long as our child has ten fingers, ten toes, and is healthy, I don't really care what gender it is.
I have had a fairly easy pregnancy so far, with minimal morning sickness. I'm showing more and more each day, but I can't feel any movement yet. The doctor says average time for first feeling the baby is 18 weeks. Each person I talk to has a different opinion since their pregnancies were all different so I'm just going with it for now. Neight is still excited and will kiss my stomach at least once a day telling me he's kissing the baby. It's been an interesting experience and still feels unreal, but that is about to change drastically.
For Christmas we had Neight's family over for dinner on Christmas Eve and my family came over for dinner on Christmas. Neight spoiled me this year and bought me a Kindle Fire, the Harry Potter series on bluray, a headset for my phone, and a camcorder for our growing family. I already made sure that it won't be in the delivery room ;) My parents bought us a very nice rug for our front room since we don't have carpet yet. I love it and the animals love it too.
Here are a few pictures from our holiday adventures.
As for New Years we had a few friends come over and hang out. I had to call it a night at 2 am because I was exhausted and couldn't keep my eyes open. Yesterday we spent the day relaxing and being lazy. We watched the first two Harry Potter movies, well, Neight did. I feel asleep about half way through the second one. Today Neight had to work, but was feeling sick and came home early :( Poor guy. He's sleeping right now and I hope he's better when he wakes up.
We both go back to school this week. It's a little crazy to think that when the semester ends there will only be like a month and a half until I'm due. Hopefully it's an easy semester and I can finish it.
I hope everyone is had a magical Christmas and New Years!

PARTY!
I'd like to officially announce that Neight and I are HOME OWNERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was a nightmare and when we decided to buy a different house we will not be going with the same Realtor or financing company. They gave us the run around, told us the day before closing the different documents we needed that I had specifically asked if they needed previously, and didn't bother to tell our insurance agent that we needed a new policy quote for home owners insurance until the day of closing. After all was said and done our insurance agent said this is the third time the financial company has done this to him, where they know they need a policy at least 10 days before closing, but never tell him until the day of.
So on our closing day I had to take a super long lunch break to sign all of the stupid paperwork, we had to go to their office, they wouldn't come meet us. Anyway, I had worked it out with my assistant manager to take two hours off for lunch thinking that it would be enough time to get everything figured out. So we get there at 1:00 pm and the paper work isn't ready because they are still waiting for the new insurance policy. We didn't sign ANY paper work until 2:45, making me get back to work an hour later than I had worked out with my manager..... Awesome. I was so mad, but thankfully we don't have to deal with that crap anymore. Now the house is ours, we can do whatever we want, I can turn it into a home, and we got a killer deal on it. It's a good starter house and it's so much nicer than the apartments we were living in. It's also a huge amount of stress that has been taken away. Now for all of the improvements! Thank goodness my dad is a miracle worker and can basically fix anything and do any project he sets his mind to.
Also, we're having a baby in June :) And yes, we did plan it ;) This week starts 14 weeks and I'm starting to gain that fun little "baby bump." Except I feel like it's just lard sitting in my stomach. The first trimester was fairly easy for me. I didn't have a ton of morning sickness which was great! I'm just hoping that the rest of the pregnancy goes like this, but we'll see how the third trimester treats me. Neight is super excited and we've already picked out some names that we like. We won't find out if it's a boy or girl until the end of January at the earliest, it might even be in February that we find out. Neight wants a boy, but as long as the baby had 10 fingers and 10 toes and is healthy, I don't care what it is. For a while I was thinking that I didn't want any girls because I have two sisters and the drama growing up was enough for a lifetime, but now I'm thinking I would like one of each. I guess we'll just see how the dice rolled :)
Life has been so crazy for us and I am so thankful the semester is over. Well, for me anyway, Neight just started a new quarter, but he will have his associates degree in June! Next semester I'm only going to be taking 13 credits instead of 15. Hopefully it will be less stressful and not as crazy, but with me being pregnant, who knows. I'm just happy that my due date is after the semester ends so I can actually take the summer off from school and work :)
That's just a little bit on what we've been up to. Hopefully everyone is having a fantastic holiday season!
