Almost Two Months

Neight went fishing super early this morning with his friend Brett Bennett and his brother Jesse, and when Kayton woke up to eat just before seven I figured I would start my day. I haven't done a lot so far and I'm really hungry, but have no idea what to do for breakfast. Anyway, I figured I would post an update on the last month while Kayton is still sleeping.

Friday, Kayton was 8 weeks, but she won't be two months until Wednesday. It is a little weird how that works out, but oh well. Next Monday I will be taking her to the pediatrician to see how she is growing and to also get immunizations. I'm not really looking forward to her screaming in pain, so we will see how that goes.

Things haven't been as crazy around here this second month. Kayton is now sleeping between 6 and 8 hours a night and has started setting a schedule. She usually goes to sleep for the night between 9 and 10, which leave Neight and I an hour or two to ourselves before we go to sleep. I don't know how things are going to go when I go back to work and school, her entire schedule might get messed up those first few weeks.

At the end of July it was my Mom's birthday and I made this super cute gift for her.

Kayton was not happy when I had Neight help me put her footprints on it, but in the end I think it was worth it. I hope my mom liked it.

This last month Kayton has started smiling more and she has even started "talking" to us. She is just the cutest little thing and I love her so much! She is a happy baby for the most part, but when she gets mad she gets mad! This little girl has a set of lungs on her. Maybe we have ourselves a future singer? Her lungs have been getting even stronger because she caught a cold that both Neight and I had. I tried to hard to keep her healthy and she didn't seem to get it as bad as we did, but she still wasn't feeling well. She started crying a new cry that I had never heard before, which must be her sick cry and when we try to clean the gunk out of her nose she will scream and scream and scream until we are finished. I feel bad for my sweet girl and I really hope we are at the end of the cold.

Kayton loves to kick her feet which means that some days I cannot keep her wrapped up in a blanket! Before she was born, Kayton was given this set of super adorable feet rattles! I love them and put them on her at least once a day :)

Here are a couple of pictures that I have taken with my phone. I need to upload the pictures from our camera and post those.

This one is her adorable smile :) It is a little dark so you might have to look at your monitor at a different angle to see it. With this smile I think that when she is older we are going to have some problems with a lot of boys coming around ;)

For some reason Kayton blows bubbles with her mouth when she is asleep. My mom says that she has never met another baby that blows as many bubbles as Kayton does. Maybe there is a hidden talent in there somewhere?

Memorial Day, Without Camping

Can you believe it's already Memorial Day???? I can't! This year has already FLOWN by! Probably because Neight and I are spending our time looking forward to the baby coming! There's only 2 weeks left! Neight continues to tell me that he wants Baby K to come early, but I don't (and kind of hope) that it won't happen. As much as I tell myself I'm ready for labor it still really makes me nervous to think about it. It's crazy to think that a year ago Neight and I were looking forward to taking our trip to Disneyland and this year we're looking forward to having our baby.

Usually over Memorial Day we go camping with my Dad's family. Last year we broke the tradition and went to Echo with our friends Brett and Allie. It was a lot of fun, but SO miserable because it rained from the time we got there until the time we left. This year because I'm 38 weeks pregnant we decided to not even try, even though we bought a camper so we probably would have been fine with the cold, but I don't want to be hours away from a hospital. My Dad's family decided not to go camping this year either, so I don't feel like we missed out on too much.

Today my Dad and Neight are working in the nursery getting it ready to go. There's just a little left to do, they're texturing the walls that they built and getting things ready to paint. The only problem with this is that there is dust from the mud in the ENTIRE upstairs. I was up there for about an hour when they first started, but I couldn't handle the dust anymore. It was making me crazy and I felt the urge to clean, so I moved downstairs where I've spent the majority of the day. It's much cooler and I have a TV and computer, so it's not horrible. It also keeps me sane. There wasn't any point to clean upstairs because it will just continue to get dirty until they are finished for the day. It's a good thing they're doing this before the baby comes instead of her first few weeks here at home. I will be happy when it's finished. I should have taken pictures before they started in there, but I didn't. I'll post some of the room when it's finished for sure.

Later tonight Neight and I are going over with our puppy to my parents for a bbq. I love spending time with my family and it's never a dull moment with my sisters. I'm also looking forward to getting all of the dust off of my floor and flat surfaces upstairs ;)

Camping!!

Last week, Neight, Zildjin, and I went camping with Neight's coworker (Brett), his wife (Allie), and their dog (Indy). It was definitely a weekend full of surprises. I won't go into too many details, but, this is what happened.
Saturday as Neight and Brett and I were getting things ready to go we went to Brett's Dad's house to get the key to a trailer we were going to stay in. Well, as we pulled into the campsite Brett realized he forgot the key.... So we had to cut the locks off to get in.
Sunday we took the boat out so the boys could do some fishing..... The battery died on us.... So the boys started rowing to shore and luckily we had some other boaters that came to our rescue.
Monday as we were packing up to leave they put the charged battery in the boat and found out that the engine was dead... so they had to walk it along the shore to the dock.

Even though it was full of surprises I had a lot of fun :) It was nice to go and relax AWAY from civilization for a few days. We had plenty of delicious food and running water which was nice. We were also in good company. Maybe next year when we go up things will go the right way? Here are a few pictures that I took.
The leaves in Parley's Canyon are already changing!

Such a cute puppy!

Headed out on her first camping trip :)
